Slovakia women – Head Coach – Jaroslav Kolibik did the following interview on preparation of team with regards to upcoming 2013 ISBHF World Championships in St. John´s, Canada.
Slovakia about their preparation for ISBHF World Championships in St. John´s:
- 1. At what stage of preparation is your team with regards to next year’s the world championships in St. John’s?
The team plays now hockey and is in preparation for qualification to A category of World Women Ice Hockey Championships. At present, women dedicate their time to play ice hockey in their clubs till end of March 2013 and in national team. We had a training camp on December 3, 2012 where all women players declared their interest to represent Slovakia with participation only in ISBHF World Ball Hockey Championships in St. John´s.
- 2. How will the preparation continue in the next months?
After the end of the ice hockey season in April we will have National Women´s Ball Hockey Championships in Martin, Slovakia with attendance of 8 teams. I will together with my assistance coach select from teams the best players. In May 2013 we will have 2 training camps in order to prepare the team for St. John´s. We intend to play 2 preparation games before the World Championships. The one with national team of Czech Republic and the other one with the Slovakia U23 team.
- 3. Can you already tell the names of some players of your team?
The core of the team comprises women players, which won the title Ball Hockey Champion in 2011 in Bratislava with the goalkeeper Zuzana Tomcikova and the captain Jana Kapustova. In the seeker I have also new players, but everything depends on them, if from the performance, moral and games knowledge point of view convince the coaches that they belong to team.
- 4. What are the expectations you have for St. John's?
Team of World Ball Hockey Champions from Bratislava is going to defend the Gold medals to St. John´s. Our goal is clear. We want to come home to Slovakia from Canadians St. John´s as World Ball Hockey Champions.
- 5. Who will become world champion 2013, and why?
Slovakia!But also Canada, Czech Republic and USA will do everything possible in order to reach the Gold medal trophy.
